Almost two years ago, local charities and church groups that help the needy survive, along with the city, formed the Tarpon Alliance For Humanity to coordinate resources. SEBRING — Heartland Workforce will be hosting its second pre-holiday retail hiring event at the Highlands One-Stop Career Center on Monday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a resume and be appropriately dressed to interview for part-time and full-time seasonal work. Sales, customer service, cashier and food service positions will be available. The following employers have committed so far to take part in the job fair: Ross, Sebring Wal–Mart, Michaels, Wauchula Wal-Mart, Sears, Sebring Walgreens, Sebring Kmart, South Florida Community College, Bealls, All State-Jessica Hartline Insurance, Belks, Sunshine Staffing, Home Depot, Marshalls, Books A Million, Panera Bread, Big Lots, Cross Country Automotive Services, Quality Inn and Avon Park Correctional Institute.
