DUNEDIN -- Last year, during an archeological dig at Dunedin Historical Society Summer History Camp, youngsters unearthed all sorts of strange items, including the kitchen sink. HAINES CITY — After being upset in last Saturday's district finals, the Sebring girls basketball team made sure that didn't happen again, as Whitney Lee scored a team-high 14 points to lead the Blue Streaks to a 55-48 upset victory over District 9 champion Haines City in Thursday night's Class 4A regional quarterfinals. Senior forward Whitney Wells added eight points — all in the second half — to go along with eight rebounds, as Sebring moves on to Tuesday's regional semifinal at district rival Booker. "This is such a sweet win," Wells said. "Our team wanted this win so bad. We were all jumping around and screaming in the locker room because we were so happy. SEBRING — Sam Robinson doesn't worry if he gets off to a slow start on the basketball court. Opponents, on the other hand, probably should. Robinson hit three 3-point bombs in the third quarter and scored a game-high 26 points Tuesday night to lead the Sebring boys basketball team to a 51-44 victory over district-leading Sarasota Booker in Class 4A-District 10 action at Sebring High School. "I struggled in the first half," said Robinson, who also added four steals. "But I always have more confidence in the second half of games — I usually come out and play well."
