Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital is positioning itself to remain in good financial health in these stressful economic times, according to one of its administrators. Now, John Joseph MacCarelli III faces a charge of felony child abuse, accused of beating an infant he was watching while the boy's father worked. After the 3-month-old's father picked him up from MacCarelli's home early Sunday morning and tried to wake him up at home for a feeding, he noticed the boy was bruised and bleeding, a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report states. ...more
