The phone things "I am away from my desk" or "Your call is important to us" has reached the ridiculous stage. We are either on hold or waiting for a call back. Many of us are not computer literate or are handicapped and just can't communicate with a computer. Some people do not own one. Right now I just listened to a robot tell me I was caller number one.
