DUNEDIN - A motorcyclist who collided with a pickup at Curlew and Fisher roads about 6:45 a.m. today has died of his injuries, Pinellas County sheriff's deputies said.
He has been identified as Daryl Miles, 44, of 2290 Ranchette Lane, Dunedin. Miles was not wearing a helmet.
Miles was riding his motorcycle east on Curlew, switched lanes just before the intersection and rode into the path of a Nissan Frontier that was turning into the westbound lanes of Curlew from Fisher, the sheriff's office said.
Miles was thrown from the motorcycle, investigators said. He was pronounced dead after he was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital.
Driving the Frontier was Jordan Francis, 16, of 3395 Fisher Road, and riding with him as a passenger was his sister, Brenda, 15, of the same address, the sheriff's office said. They were also taken to Mease Countryside Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Some debris from the collision struck a third vehicle, but the driver was not injured.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the wreck, which remains under investigation.
