CLEARWATER - A 55-year-old woman was arrested this morning after stabbing an 82-year-old neighbor who refused to drive her to a store to buy alcohol, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.
Martha Gold was charged with second-degree attempted murder.
Gold, who lives at the On Top of the World condominium complex, went to the condominium of Genevieve Zebrowski, who lives above her, about 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff's office said.
Gold wanted Zebrowski to drive her to the store to purchase alcohol, and when Zebrowski declined, Gold pulled out a knife and began to stab her, threatening to kill her, the sheriff's office said. The assault occurred at the doorway of Zebrowski's condominium, the sheriff's office said.
Zebrowski was transported to Bayfront Medical Center. Her injuries were not life-threatening, the sheriff's office said.
