PALM HARBOR - Next weekend more than 7,000 spectators are expected to flock into downtown Palm Harbor for TNT Events' second Spring Arts and Crafts Show.
This will be their second edition of the event. It has taken the place of a series of art another vendor presented in the community's downtown historic district over the years.
Inverness-based TNT Events will present the arts and crafts show along Florida Avenue between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. next Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22. The street will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event.
Terry Rudzitis, operator of TNT Events, said in its first outing last year the Spring Arts and Crafts show "attracted a very nice crowd" over its two-day run.
During an economic downturn people look for free events at which they can spend the day having fun and finding bargain-priced creations, she said.
About 50 artists will display a variety of works in fields ranging from pottery to paintings, jewelry to glasswork, photography to fabric work, mixed media to woodworking.
There will also be vendors selling taste treats such as kettle corn.
This month downtown Palm Harbor will be abuzz with activity. Today, Saturday, Peggy O'Neill's Irish Pub will put on its annual St. Patrick's Day Party, featuring a day and night of live bands and performers from Ireland and Canada.
