Aspiring models from around the area gathered last weekend at the Palm Harbor Library to attend a teen modeling workshop.
The teens learned various aspects of the modeling industry from a professional in the field, Ro Martinez. Workshops took place over three consecutive Saturdays.
She said the workshop has grown into a popular offering by the library and was well attended, according to Katie Banks, youth service librarian.
The workshop culminated in a fashion show put on by the aspiring models that produced offers from a local talent agency, Banks said.
Kelly Paige, president of Tampa-based Level Model and Talent Management, attended the fashion show and is interested in representing three of the participants, Dan DiPiazza and twin sisters Morgan and Alexis Clare.
In an interview Thursday Paige said she plans to invite the young people to come in to her office and discuss the possibilities for their future in the business. She said they have great potential.
Banks said the library is offering workshops and events to attract more young people to visit and utilize their library. The library has a Teen Room and youth advisory
