PALM HARBOR - Old Palm Harbor Main Street will showcase the work of nine local artists during Fall Into Art, starting Friday.
This will be the fourth and final show of the 2008 season. Throughout the year the exhibition showcased local artists at Harbor Hall with themed presentations. It has proven to be very popular, said Robin Husbands-Cauchi, Main Street manager.
The high-quality art program has been so popular it will be presented bi-monthly next year, she said.
Main Street leaders want Harbor Hall to serve as the community's cultural center, she added.
To spotlight the last show of the season, an artists' reception will take place from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24. The art will be displayed at Harbor Hall through Friday, Oct. 30.
This juried exhibition will include creations by: Cynthia Jacobson, Robert Lapin, Sultana Voltaire, Lillie Neily, David and Kim Braum, Patricia Cooney, Ann Henson and Davie Duke.
The number of artists has been expanded for this show to accomodate everyone, Husbands-Cauchi said.
A Best of Show prize will be awarded during the reception.
The event also includes a silent auction comprised of one piece donated by each artist.
The Old Palm Harbor Main Street Arts Program has been well received and the community has welcomed each exhibit, she said.
Other projects for Harbor Hall are in the works, Husbands-Cauchi advised. A concert series will be held in the adjacent Rheba Sutton White Chapel, a historic former church building that has great acoustics.
Also, an intergenerational family art exhibit with a performing arts component is planned for December, she said.
Harbor Hall and the White Chapel are usually booked on weekends for weddings.
