Tarpon JV Football Stays Unbeaten

TARPON SPRINGS - The Tarpon Springs junior varsity football team remained undefeated this week, taking out South County rival and previously unbeaten Largo High Tuesday night, 21-19.
The Spongers were led by Darius Daniels' enormous night on the ground, rushing for 249 yards on 26 carries. He made his way through the Packers defense via the air by hauling in a 26-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Wyatt Wikle, as well.
Tarpon sealed the game late when Jorge Perez got into the backfield to stuff a 2-point conversion that would have tied things up. The Sponger defense also forced two turnovers in the game, including an interception by Joel Hardy.
