DUNEDIN - The Dunedin High School baseball team players will be honored Tuesday night for capturing the state championship for the first time in more than four decades.
The victorious Falcons will be recognized at a ceremony starting 6:30 p.m. May 20 at Knology Park, on Douglas Avenue, home of the Toronto Blue jays and Dunedin Blue Jays.
The Falcons' Class 5A state championship win did not come easily. Dunedin had to battle to take a 10 inning, 3-2 victory last Thursday night in Sarasota against Stuart South Fork.
The city, Dunedin Blue Jays and Dunedin Chamber of Commerce will make presentations to the prep baseball squad.
The presentations will precede a game between the Dunedin Blue Jays and St. Lucie Mets. Admission, which will include a game ticket, is $3.
