PALM HARBOR - Next month residents will be able to sell their wares to bargain hunters browsing in air-conditioned comfort at Palm Harbor Recreation's Third Annual Summer Flea Market.
Erica Lynford, assistant to Palm Harbor Recreation Director Rick Burton, said this one-day summer flea market is one of the most popular.
It will take place from 8 a.m. until noon, Saturday, July 12, at the Palm Harbor Activity Center, on 16th Street off Nebraska Avenue.
For $20 anyone can rent a table on which to sell items that have been tucked away in a garage or attic. Some people prepare for the flea market by collecting items for sale, while other vendors specialize, Lynford said.
About 500 bargain hunters are expected to walk through looking for some special item or bargain, she said.
The flea market has become a seasonal event tradition, with some residents coming back each year to see what a special vendor has to offer.
With tough economic conditions, many people shop for bargains at garage sales. This event expects to host about 60 vendors under one roof, she said.
Many come early to get the best items, she added.
Anyone interested in signing up for a vendor table can call Lynford or Cathy Koutsoumbaris at the Recreation Center at 727-771-6000.
