It has been more than a year since Dunedin removed the sabal, or cabbage, palms from the median that divides San Jose Drive from Bayshore Boulevard to Pasadena Drive. This particular specie is the official state plant.
The city promised to replace these plants with crepe myrtles. Dunedin has a strict tree ordinance requiring property owners to replace trees that have been removed for whatever reason. Why is the city ignoring its own law?
