DUNEDIN -- Firefighters battled a boat fire that broke out at the City Marina on Edgewater Drive late last night.
Division Fire Chief Bill McElligott said the firefighters were called just after 11 p.m., last night, July 30. They found heavy smoke and flames showing on the municipal marina's "B" dock.
The electrical fire, aboard an 18-foot boat, was confined to the center console area of the vessel.
Damage to the boat is estimated at $1,000. The boats hull, fuel tank and motor were not affected by the blaze.
There was no damage to surrounding vessels and no environmental issues created for the marina, McElligott said.
