PALM HARBOR - The Palm Harbor Library will be closed for about two weeks at the end of July to prepare for the last round of remodeling.

As the third phase of renovation begins, the library will be closed from Monday, July 28 through Sunday, Aug. 10, said Debbie Phillips, library spokeswoman. The library is located at 2330 Nebraska Ave.

Much of the time will be taken up relocating the collection and then restocking shelves.

When the library reopens patrons should notice several major enhancements, she added.

An expanded Teen Room will offer many exciting improvements requested by youngsters.

The library will have five newly equipped study rooms and a conference area with a ceiling-mounted video projector and screen.

Literacy Services will have its own office. The Reference Department will have a new workroom.

Lighting at the library will be vastly improved, Phillips said. The remodeled facility will also have new carpeting and reupholstered furniture.

A sprinkler system will be installed, along with an emergency exit on the south side of the building.

During the last round of improvements, the library's remodeled children's section opened in May receiving very positive feedback about its brighter colors, enhanced lighting and improved visibility, Phillips reported.

While the library will be closed for almost two weeks, patrons can acquire enough books to quench their thirst for reading and listening to tapes at a special half-price book sale Monday, July 21, through Saturday, July 26, during regular library hours.
