PALM HARBOR – Suzanne Henslee's work as one of the area's most passionate promoters of multisport races throughout Pinellas County is again being rewarded in the form of a personal invitation to Lance Armstrong's 2008 Livestrong Summit later this month.
Stemming from her creation of the six-race Youth Triathlon Series that benefits the Lance Armstrong Foundation, Henslee said in an e-mail release that she is "absolutely blown away" by the honor.
In addition to supporting Armstrong's foundation through the YTS, Henslee holds a personal, vested interest in the Livestrong Summit. She lost her husband to cancer eight years ago.
It is what launched her into the world of triathlons and attending will be "such a nice payback," she wrote.
The four-day summit will be held July 24 - 27 in Columbus, Ohio, at The Ohio State University.
According to the livestrong.org Web site, the event's objective is for summit delegates to "identify the needs of cancer survivors and to brainstorm possible solutions to those challenges."
In addition to Armstrong, the seven times Tour de France winner and cancer survivor, the speakers for this year's event are presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain and cancer survivor Stephanie Spielman, wife of former NFL linebacker Chris Spielman.
