SAFETY HARBOR, Fla. - SAFETY HARBOR, Fla. - SAFETY HARBOR, Fla. - This year's Safety Harbor Seafood Festival will offer much more than tasty fish.
Next weekend's street party at the Safety Harbor City Marina stretches over two days and includes concerts from a variety of musical genres.
Festivities begin each day at noon, Saturday and Sunday, March 1 and 2. The revelry continues on Saturday until 10 p.m. and Sunday until 6 p.m.
The festival will feature continuous live entertainment on the Budweiser True Music Stage, said Joe Cooper, city special activities coordinator.
The musical line up is:
Saturday, March 1
Noon – The acoustic guitar of Just Dave.
1:45 p.m. – Jamming rock of Low Frequency Shaman.
3:45 p.m. – Rockability sounds of the group Taints.
6 p.m. – The rock beat continues with John Q.
8:30 p.m. – The Jam Rock continues with Wildlife Refugees.
Sunday, March 2
12:30 p.m. – Singer, guitarist and pianist Dave Cahalan, of Clearwater.
2:30 p.m. – The reggae sounds of Shakes Society.
4:30 p.m. – The reggae continues with Jahfari.
Seafood and other food vendors from around the state will serve up their specialties, Cooper said.
Visitors will see artistic creations of more than 30 artists and crafters displayed along the marina walkway.
The Treasure Island Sport Kite Klub and Sunset Flyers will present a display of colorful kites on the back lawn of the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. Kite making and flying instructions will be available.
The festival will also include inflatable and crafts for youngsters and activities for the entire family, Cooper said.
