PALM HARBOR, Fla. A Holiday man faces accusations of drug cultivation and trafficking after Pinellas detectives seized marijuana and plants worth some $500,000 at a Palm Harbor grow house.
Timothy Edward Stacy, 32, 4250 Newgate Drive, Holiday, was arrested Tuesday morning on one count each of cultivation of marijuana and trafficking in marijuana, both felonies, according to a news release from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Pinellas narcotics division detectives served the warrant at 85 South Canal Drive, Palm Harbor, about 8:30 a.m. today, according to the Sheriff's Office statement.
Detectives discovered 29 live marijuana plants, 131 marijuana root balls along with a large amount of harvested marijuana. Detectives say they seized more than 136 pounds of plants and harvested marijuana with a street value of more than $500,000 during the raid.
Detectives also seized three firearms, two crossbows and a large of equipment used to grow the marijuana.
Detectives say Stacy rented the house and converted two of its rooms for cultivation purposes. Because of the electrical hazard posed by the modifications Stacy made, Progress Energy representatives were called to the scene to inspect the integrity of the wiring system.
As a result of the inspection electrical power to the home was disconnected until such time as the owner can have an electrician repair the damage.
The investigation continues.
