PALM HARBOR, Fla. - PALM HARBOR, Fla. - This year those attending Evening Extraordinaire will be able to "Put On The Ritz" for an elegant evening gala and then don their pajamas for some late night fun.
The festivities, put on by the Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce, begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, at Innisbrook Resort.
Attendees will sample specialties from about 20 area restaurants, along with selections from A & L Fine Wines. They can then bid on items in both silent and traditional auctions, said Connie Davis, Chamber of Commerce president and chief operating officer.
Tickets are $35 a person in advance and $40 at the door. Businesses and groups can reserve tables for from eight to 10 people.
Evening Extraordinaire has grown in popularity over the years, Davis said. It is a chance for everyone to come out and mingle, she added.
This year the gala is moving from the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa to Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club for the extra space. It is also being shifted to Friday from an earlier night in the week to give everyone the weekend to recuperate from the festivities, Davis said.
Auctions items will include weekend getaway trip packages, gift baskets, gift certificates, sports memorabilia, massages, medical and dental services and clothing. There will be a one-of-a-kind pendant designed by Les Olson Jewelers up for bidding as well.
Those who want to party the night away can attend the chamber's Sweet Dreams Party, when the fun moves to a private suite at Innisbrook, Davis said.
Only those who attend the main event, however, can attend the pajama party, she said.
Entry to the after hours event is $10 a person or a pair of children's pajamas. The money and P.J.s will go to Big Brother Big Sisters of Pinellas County, which also serves Hernando and Citrus counties.
Proceeds from the Evening Extraordinaire main event will help fund Chamber of Commerce programs.
For those who do not wish to drive home after either event, Innisbrook will offer special room rates, Davis said.
Call Innisbrook reservations to reserve a room at 727-942-2000 and the Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce office at 727-784-4287 for event tickets.
The Chamber of Commerce office is at 1151 Nebraska Ave., Palm Harbor.
