SAFETY HARBOR, Fla. - SAFETY HARBOR, Fla. - Jazz, rock and blues bands playing from three stages will entertain the downtown crowds at the Safety Harbor Wine Festival.
The sixth annual edition of the wine festival will take place along Main Street, between Bayshore Boulevard and Eighth Avenue, on Saturday, Nov. 3, 5 - 11 p.m.
The evening includes a chance to sample wine from wineries all over the world," said Joe Cooper, special events director. Wine samplings range from $3 to $5 per glass.
Beverage sponsors include Mark Davidson Wines of Australia, Budweiser, Ed's Fine Wines and Countryside Liquors.
Food vendors and arts and crafts booths will also line Main Street.
Last year the wine festival raised more than $36,000 for five local charities. The festival's total take for the philanthropic endeavors over the last five years is more than $115,000, Cooper said.
The charities that will reap rewards from this year's festival are the Safety Harbor Neighborhood Family Center, Safety Harbor Lions Club, Safety Harbor Firefighters, Safety Harbor Scholarship Fund and Safety Harbor Kiwanis.
On Nov. 3 music played from three stages will fill the night air.
The group Vibe will perform jazz from the main stage at the Gazebo in John Wilson Park, 5 - 7:30 p.m.
T. Foxx will round out the evening with its special blend of jazz and rhythm and blues, starting 8 p.m.
Guitarist David Bearce, the ambient-psychedelic Low Frequency Shaman and Angel for Blues will perform on the second stage in the Brie Garden, near Seventh Avenue.
In addition to soft cheese the Brie Garden will offer fruit and crackers.
A third stage offering yet-to-be-determined entertainment will be set up at the Harbour Pointe courtyard, near Bayshore Boulevard.
