OLDSMAR, Fla. - OLDSMAR, Fla. - The 2007 Oldsmar Oktoberfest will be relocated from R.E. Olds Park to Tampa Bay Downs.

The move to Race Track Road for next weekend's 12th annual installment of the Oldsmar Oktoberfest provides three times the space for the celebration of Germanic culture, said Carryl Moore, vice president of events for the Upper Tampa Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The shift also gives visitors much easier access to ample parking, she added.

In past years, side streets and rights of way in the neighborhood of the park on St. Petersburg Drive were traditionally lined with the cars, vans and trucks of Oktoberfest patrons.

The Chamber of Commerce is expecting more than 20,000 visitors for the 2007 Oldsmar Oktoberfest, according to Moore.

The event will offer a wide variety of Oktoberfest food, traditional German music, carnival rides and two specialty car shows. The three-day event will be held from Friday, Oct. 26, through Sunday, Oct. 28.

A muscle and hot rod car show has been added to the German-model car show that debuted last Oktoberfest to rave reviews, Moore said.

Last year, in its first outing, the display of Teutonic auto technology attracted many owners of BMWs, Audis, Mercedes-Benzes, Porsches and Volkswagens.

The German Car Show will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, noon to 4 p.m. The Hot Rod and Muscle Car Show is on Sunday, Oct. 28, noon to 4 p.m.

Muscle- or German-car owners looking to participate can apply by visiting the chamber Web site at www.utbchamber.com.

Music headliners at Oktoberfest will be Europa and Oktoberfest Express. The three-day Bavarian festival includes German folk dancing by Hope U Dance and the Daytona Beach Maiglockchen folk dancers.

Traditional Oktoberfest favorites such as the men and women's stein-holding endurance competition, men and women's log-sawing contests and world keg hurling meets will be held throughout the event.

Admission is $5. Children 12 and younger will be admitted free with a paying adult. All-you-can-ride wristband will be available for $18 a day or $50 for the entire weekend.

The Oktoberfest hours are: Friday, 5 - 11 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 7 p.m.
