PALM HARBOR, Fla. - PALM HARBOR, Fla. - The Palm Harbor Library will closed next Sunday as a long-planned renovation of the library's interior gets under way.
Following the Dec. 23 closing, the library will re-open Monday, Jan. 7, Debbie Phillips, the library's administrative director, announced today.
Starting next year, however, the library will be closed each Friday morning.
The library's hours of operation during 2008 will be: Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.; Friday, noon – 5 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Sunday, closed.
The library renovation project, funded through a $1 million state library grant, is scheduled to take most of 2008 to complete. Library officials have scheduled a grand re-opening for January 2009.
The library will remain open during construction, with the work being conducted by Caladesi Construction in four different stages. The library will be closed up to one week each time construction moves onto the next phase.
